Who handles your data
The Mercury2 website and game server are run by the operator of this site. For any question about your data, reach us at: our Discord server or the support form.
What we store
- Your account: username, e-mail address, an encoded (non-readable) form of your password, your character deletion code.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser type at registration and login (login history), and the logs of our abuse protection.
- Game data: your characters, their level, guild and items. On the ranking and the character page, the character's name, level, class, guild and (unless you hide it) equipment are public.
- What you type in: messages sent through the support form and the text of market listings.
What we use it for
- Running your account and the game.
- Security: keeping a login history, alerting you about a login from a new place, and filtering out cheating and abuse.
- Contact: sending password reset, confirmation and notification e-mails. We do not send marketing e-mails.
Cookies
The site only uses cookies that are needed for it to work: for logging in (session), for "stay logged in", and for remembering your language. The colour of your chosen element is kept in your browser's local storage. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Third-party services
The Discord box is loaded by Discord from its own servers; Discord's privacy rules apply to it. E-mails are sent through a mail provider. We do not sell your data or pass it to advertisers.
How long we keep it
Your account data is kept until the account is deleted. From the login history we keep the last 60 entries per account. Protection logs are kept for a few months at most.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the data we hold about you, and you can object to its use. Write to us at the contact above from your account's e-mail address. If you believe we handle your data improperly, you can complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this notice changes in a meaningful way, we will announce it on the site.
